Christ UMC volunteers are still assembling aid kits for the United Methodist Committee on Relief to distribute to flood victims in Louisiana.

Few folks may still remember that there is a lot of misery still going on in Louisiana after the floods last month. Even fewer folks know about the disaster relief arm of the United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Committee on Relief has been on the scene since day one of this disaster. Donations accepted at: http://www.umcor.org/Search-for-Projects/Search-for-Projects .They provide a variety of services for the public and first responders here and abroad. Here are pictures of our volunteers assembling comfort kits for the needy.

Wednesday night dinners are a tradition at Christ United Methodist Church in Forsyth, GA. September thru June, we gather at 6 pm for a great dinner, followed by a short Bible message and then choir practice. This is a great time of fellowship and good food; it’s also a great time for visitors to meet church members in an informal setting.

During the summer months, the Christ United Methodist Church dinner club visits various local restaurants. This summer we had a lot of fun visiting places like Miss Hattie’s, Shoney’s, El Tajado, Captain D’s, and ending up the season at Smoking Pig in Macon.
